Wanda Mae Sandeen was born in Chicago on March 24, 1936. She graduated from Augustana College in 1958 and married Thomas Jones, of Naperville, Illinois that same year. He was also a graduate of Augustana, and then earned his PhD in chemistry from the U. of Minnesota. They have lived in Naperville, Illinois for most of their lives, and have two children: Laura, born in 1962, and Dan, born in 1965. Laura and Dan are both married, and each has two kids. They all live in the Chicago suburbs.
