| Narrative |
per Gary T - May 1, 2015 - My mother's maiden name was Bernard. Her family was from Slovenia too. When I was small we lived in Cleveland but in three different places in the same neighborhood off of St. Clair Ave. The first five years was on E. 67th St. north of St. Clair (about two blocks away from Azman's store). We then moved to a street off of E. 79th called Kosciuszko (try spelling that for your teacher when your're in the 1st grade). We lived there 10 Years then moved about 3 streets over to Bellevue Ave. where we stayed for about 3 years and that was it. By then I was about 18 and the family all went our separate ways. In only about 2 years my father died, my brother went into the army, my mother moved to the west side and I went off on my own. As far as schools, they were all in that same neighborhood. Elementary school was only one street over from Kosciuszko. It was called Sowinski Elementary (that was the name of the street it was on). Middle school was called Addison Jr. high and the high school was East High in Cleveland. |

Per Gary Tomsic, via email - March 4-31, 2015 - My birthday is Jan 4, 1951. My wife's from around the area too. She was actually born in Wash D.C. but raised in the Cleveland area. My sons are Alan 42, Mark 40, Jeffrey 32, and Gregg 30 (yes two G's). Only one grandson Nick. He's 10 now and he's Mark's son. Jeff was just married last year.
In Feb 2015 email - time since we last saw each other - 60 years since I was age 4. I'm doing fine.

Narrative
Uncle Frank died of cancer when he was 54 or 55...of the lungs...from smoking..(NO not klobase)..1966 maybe...his sons are Gary and of course Tommy (who was named after a girlfriend he had and lost in California!) who was killed in Vietnam by a mortar or a missile strike.
From GW Tomsic cousin Alysan - 2010:
Tom and Gary's mom died fairly recently, I believe...her name was Jean.
Uncle Frank Tomsic died years ago, fairly young, from lung cancer, I believe. I remember going to the funeral home to see Tommy...he died in Viet Nam. I haven't seen Gary in a long, long time.
Narrative
From Gary Tomsic - March 4, 2015 via email - My father was born Nov 30, 1910 and he died June 9, 1967.
My mother's name is Jean and she was born in Cleveland on
March 27, 1926 and died Aug 24, 2007. They were married
in 1948.
I know he (my dad) spent time in the navy before the war and I think he lived in California for a while, but overall he smoked and he drank too much and he died at 56. We [Tom and Gary] were both still teenagers.
