  Narrative

Pecjak, David_Interview 041612 - on Pecjaks

1. Shirley's maiden name is Pezek

2. Uncle Jack had 2 sisters - One (Mary) married to Frankie Vidmar, who had a store in old neighborhood (E 63rd are of Cleveland)

3. Hocevar??? Have no idea....about them. Pretty sure neither of Uncle Jack's sisters was married to a Hocevar. I told him about how Grandpa and Grandma were in a Hocevar wedding...but he did not know of. Was going to talk to Beverly... [GREG WAS INCORRECT- it was Mary Tomsic Tomsick wedding]

4. Auntie Fanny??? - Fran Novak Merzlikar to Greg Tomsic

5. Aunt Matilda/Tillie - "Tata Tille" was Matilda Kostelic (Grandma Pecjak's sister - Matilda Mirtic)

6. Anthony was also called Anton... changed a lot. Died July 18, 1941 - "just before I turned 5" per David Pecjak

7. Johnny Pecjak's children were:
Linda (now 70-ish) - and was a nurse with Beverly at Euclid General
Dale
Dwayne
Could not remember wife's name

8. Alan Koprivec - His Mother was a Pecjak - not sure the relation/tie. This may be it:

John/Anna Pecjak-Koprivec had a child... Alan

9. Joseph Pecjak was an alcoholic; died from it.

10. Auntie Mary's parents killed (at least her mother) died in auto accident.

11. One brother of Joseph was called "Hunkie Gus" - probably his step brother and a drifter. He came to Joseph's funeral and Uncle Eddie and Uncle Jack had to take him away and clean him up at a nearby store/place.

12. Fond rememberances of William F - "he used to take Beverly and me to pick up Joseph Pecjak at the scrap yard where he worked on E 170th & St Clair, every day. Wonderful person...told us great stories and was a good person. Kind and gentle. That's how we remember him and always will." "Amazed us by being able to predict when lights would change as we drove down St. Clair ...we did not yet know about the yellow light for cross traffic before the light changed to gree for us... amazed us."
