per Aunt Alice (Alice Tomsic-Azman) in Mar 2001, one brother was left behind in Slovenia because he was crippled. Later info suggest he was also an alcoholic. His grandson (Joseph, Jozef?) was found and visited by Tony Tomsic Jr., son of Tony who was a son of Anton, in Vrh in ~ 2005. His note below:

About 5 years ago while in Slovenia I went looking for our Grandfathers house which had burned down a long time ago. I knew it had burned down........ with a very savy guide, went to the church in Hinje and there was the Tomsic name on the ledger............ found the burnt down house....... on a lark I knocked on a house door nearby........ the minute the door opened I knew I had found a Tomsic.......... it was Joseph Tomsic.................... our Grandfather’s brother’s grandson ...... same generation as you and I and the same age.......... At first he was apprehensive, but when I mentioned that his Grandfather's other brother had drowned in Lake Erie.......... that did it.......... I have since visited him last year again. Per son Kenny (Clarence) Tomsick, April 2014, his father's name was originally spelled "Tomsic" like the rest of the family. But when he and Mary Tomsic, who met in Colorado, set up a tavern there, the local records put him down as Tomsick. It seems to have stuck.Marriage Notes (Mary Tomsic)

... John Tomsic, Kenny's father worked in a silver mine for 2 years, then had a chance to buy a tavern in Leadville, Co. He did, and hired grandpa's sister Mary as a barmaid. They both ended up in Leadville from Ellis Island....perhaps got on the wrong train. That's how they met. He said his father was from Hinje..in the old country....same place as Pa [Anton] Tomsic! Kenny also said that his father spelled the name as we have it, Tomsic. But, when he was signing up for the tavern, the irishmen spelled it as it sounded....thus Tomsick.
